Calangute: The Calangute Police Station has registered an offence in connection with a stabbing incident reported near Baga Circle on Saturday.
As per police information, the complaint was filed by Sunil Rathod (23), a businessman currently residing near the Electricity Department in Candolim and originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. In his complaint, he stated that on March 1, 2026, at around 12:30 pm near Baga Circle, the accused — identified as Samir Singh Rajput (31), a resident of Calangute originally from Rajasthan — allegedly abused his friend, Karan 
Magare, in filthy language over a monetary dispute.
The situation escalated when the accused allegedly approached from behind and stabbed Karan Magare in the back with a kitchen knife, causing serious bleeding injuries.
Police have registered the offence under Sections 118(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The accused, Samir Singh Rajput, has been arrested. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Vishwajit Dhavlikar.
